How Does This Program Work?

About the Program

  1. First, we will discuss your goals and make a plan.  I’ll ask about your diet and training history, including goals, progress, and struggles. I will tell you if I think I have the skills & experience to help, what is realistic, and what changes you’ll need to make to achieve your desired outcome.
  2. If we agree on the plan and estimated timeline to achieve these goals, I’ll send over pricing information to register with Adaptive.
  3. I’ll create an initial nutrition plan based on your schedule and preferences. This includes macro targets, which outline the amount in grams of protein, fats and carbs to consume each day — and you choose what you eat to reach those targets.
  4. You will track your daily nutrition in MyFitnessPal and log into your dashboard once a day to record progress in Coachific, where you log your weight, measurements and more.
  5. You’ll have a formal check-in with your coach bi-weekly to cover what’s working, what’s not and what needs adjusting. This interaction is handled through completion of a weekly check-in task in Coachific and your coach will provide feedback via email, either written or in video format via Vidyard.
  6. If you have questions/concerns or are looking for some motivation outside of your weekly check-in you can message your coach at any time!
  7. Stay motivated throughout the program with exclusive access to our members-only content on this web page.
In summary, your job is to adhere to the plan. Our job is to help you do that and tweak things if necessary so that we stay on target.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

Do you guarantee results?

We take our coaching very seriously, which is why we don’t require contracts or a commitment beyond one month. If you work with us for 30 days and feel like online coaching isn’t a good fit, just let us know and we’ll discontinue any future payments.

Our entire business is built on getting results for our clients. If you invest in us, then you can be confident that we’ll invest in your success and satisfaction. The effectiveness of our programs is a function of the coach but are largely determined by you and your commitment.

How long is the online coaching program?

In order to realize results, we recommend a 3-month minimum commitment. Remember, we’re playing the long game here. We don’t follow fads. We focus on bringing health and fitness into your life, so it works no matter how hectic or difficult your life gets. Making lasting, meaningful change takes time. That is why we recommend you commit to 3-months at a minimum. We are willing to provide a 10% discount on monthly rate if you sign up for 3-months upon initially joining. Which equates to $260.50 for 3 months.

After the first three months, we’ll continue to coach you for as long as you want. Our clients find to enjoy having someone they trust handling their nutrition, so the vast majority stay on beyond that.

I already have a personal trainer at my local gym. Can I work with you too?

Absolutely. We think it’s great that you’re getting hands-on fitness coaching. Our coaches will work with you to build a program that compliments the work you’re doing with your local personal trainer. Once you are accepted into the program, just let us know and we’ll make sure to integrate the two.

Will I be required to join a gym?

Nope. We may make recommendations based on your specific goals, but do not require a gym membership.

Do I have to take any supplements?

No. While we may suggest the occasional supplement that aligns with your goals, we will never require you to purchase any supplement nor do we sell any supplements at Adaptive Transformations.

I like to do other things outside of going to the gym (running, swimming, biking, etc.). Can I do these things and coaching?

Of course! Keep doing what you love because our goal is to help you do those things better. That’s how you make health and fitness a sustainable part of your life.

What if I have medical issues?

We’d love to work with you! We can work with almost anyone struggling with medical illnesses, but our coaches can not provide any medical assistance or treatment options for diabetes, hormonal problems, thyroid problems, PCOS, etc. As with any change in diet, you should check with your doctor first and follow any of your doctor’s recommendations first.

Can you work with young, old, overweight, already fit, inactive, etc. etc.?

Come one, come all! We coach people of all shapes, sizes and lifestyles. Our program is completely custom and built around you and your goals!

What if I have dietary preferences?

You want to to know if you can do this program if you’re vegan, vegetarian, paleo, gluten-free or just a picky eater? Absolutely! We choose your macros, you choose your food.

Can I get a refund?

All sales are final. We do realize that it takes a financial commitment to take part in our programs and do not require long term contracts.

This Seems Expensive

Coaching Costs

We understand that initially this program may seem expensive. However, if you compare it to what a nutritionist charges per office hour (usually around $150) then it’s much cheaper than many other individualized programs. Additionally, this program is meant to help you learn what’s best for you, so you can be successful in the long run and you don’t have to keep wasting money on other methods that may only provide temporary success. It’s an investment in your health, one that buys you earned results!

Scope of Practice

At Adaptive Transformations we focus on overall lifestyle change, wellness, and nutrition by helping clients find the right foods to support them in reaching their health goals and to realize better balance in all aspects of life. We provide more of a coaching role and our clients are a part of the process working in conjunction with our support to reach goals.

Most health and fitness professionals can make nutrition recommendations to otherwise healthy clients. So even without the certifications held by Adaptive coaches, most people can make nutrition recommendations. What we offer is a proven system for making those recommendations built on lifestyle modifications.

We make it a point to emphasize that our title and scope of practice does not go beyond our certification as Trainers and Nutrition Coaches. None of us are authorized to function in the capacity of a registered dietitian, physician, clinical psychologist, or any other kind of medical professional. And while we most certainly care about each of our clients, sometimes the best help we can provide is to refer out to the proper professional.

Outside of scope process and handling

  • If we suspect a client has a hormone issue, we refer them to Blueze Wellness to work with Dr. Nilles.
  • If we are working with a client that is exhibiting signs of an eating disorder, we suggest seeking the proper help.
  • If a client wants a meal plan, we will recommend an RD or MD as we are not legally allowed to provide them.
  • It is outside our scope of practice to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy, which means giving nutrition advice to treat or cure disease.

What we CAN do

  • Provide evidence-based nutrition information and encouragement of general healthy eating choices.
  • Conduct classes and seminars, so long as it is made clear that we are not licensed dietitians or nutritionists.
  • Provide weight control services so long as we are under the supervision of a dietitian or MD.
  • Offer one-on-one nutrition coaching and/or training (gym)
  • Write articles and content about nutrition
  • Provide recipes
  • Recommend amounts of essential nutrients (Macro and Micronutrients)
  • Offer suggestions and input on supplementation, however we cannot prescribe any supplements or talk about them in a way that implies we are treating a specific issue
  • Design and program training plans specific to the individual and their goals

At Adaptive Transformations we emphasize dietary and non-dietary approaches to weight and health challenges, along with providing coaching, support, and education to help with daily application. In some cases, this may include recommending a specific set of macronutrient guidelines that we feel is in line with goals of the client, but we do NOT provide meal plans or MNT (as referenced previously). Other times we will emphasize the building of positive habits, such as portion control or intuitive eating.

While operating within our scope of practice means we may not be able to work with or risk losing a client, we must always do the right thing. In fact, the trust earned with this approach goes a long way in our clients recommending our services to others.

The bottom line here is simple – we function as Nutrition Coaches & Personal Trainers, nothing else. We only provide guidance that we definitively know is going to help clients – no guess work!
