Pricing:
$150 per 45-minute session.
Let’s meet!
When we set up the free 30-minute Discovery Session, I will ask you to complete an assessment before we meet.
The goal of the Discovery Session is
• for us both to know if you have a goal that coaching will help you achieve
• for me to get a sense of who you are
• for you to know if I’m a coach you could trust and enjoy working with
The structure of the Discovery Session is:
• I’ll do a brief introduction of myself and my coaching and I’ll ask you to tell me about yourself.
• We’ll talk about your answers to the Assessment you have completed.
• We’ll talk about your interest in achieving your goals
• And we’ll talk about whether you think you’d like to continue as a client.
The Details
What happens in a 45-minute session?
• You’ll call me at our pre-arranged time.
• I’ll ask you what has changed since we last spoke.
• You’ll tell me your experiences with the self-observations and practices we agreed you would do since last session.
• You’ll tell me about what you’d like to talk about this week.
• I’ll ask some challenging questions, listen for opportunities for growth, and give you some takeaways and new self-observations and practices.
• Finally, we’ll talk about how the session went; if there’s anything I can do differently that would make next session perfect for you.
• We’ll confirm our next session time and date.
My coaching model:
Assess
Define
Agree
Practice
Transform
I’ll ask you to fill out a self-assessment that will reveal your communication and social preferences, skills and competencies, learning style, and development. In our discovery session I’ll also observe your communication style, listen for what you’re not saying, and form a preliminary, overall picture of who you are right now.
Together, through my questions and your clarification, we’ll create a shared set of definitions for the words and metaphors we will use together. Words like “leadership”, “difficult”, “conflict” and “vision” can have different meanings for different people. I will seek to learn how you understand those kinds of terms.
We will agree on a path forward that will help you get to where you want to be that you are able and willing to sustain. Through the assess, define and agree discussions I will refine my assessment and seek a finer and more accurate understanding of who you are.
I will suggest practices that will help you see yourself with fresh eyes, and reinforce new behaviours and ways of thinking that will help you move from where you are now to where you want to be. If you are willing to undertake the practices, we will agree how often and for how long you will do them, and then we’ll review what has changed for you as you embody your new behaviours. Practices can be as simple as a 15-minute self-observation three times a day, or taking a gym class once a week, or asking for help from a colleague at the next department meeting. The practices will be specific to you and your unique situation.
Through a sustained, iterative cycle of self-observation, practice, discussion and clarification, I will support you in a transformation toward your intent for the future.
How my adaptability enters into the picture:
You are a unique individual with specific, timely and important ideas, goals, dreams and challenges, and your time, money and energy are finite. To be able to meet you where you are in your journey, I must be adaptive, capable of recognizing what you specifically need to gain value from your coaching time.
Within each session, except for the rough structure I have laid out here, I don’t use a “formula” or “template” for working with you. I don’t use a checklist of questions or answers. After many years of coaching experience I know the best results come from me staying in the flow of the conversation, attending to you completely.
As well as listening with an open mind, I ask intuitive questions based on the flow of your questions, ideas and responses. I look for patterns of behaviour or speech. I also look for what you are not saying, and how your actions compare to your values and goals. I remain open to your requests for more or less of anything at all, such as challenges or fieldwork.
I will serve you flexibly while staying true to the ethics and profession of coaching, and ensuring I always speak openly and honestly.
Session FAQ:
How often will our session be?
In general, a weekly session is the most effective, and that is the model my pricing is based on. However, if you would like a different model, let's talk about it and see what we can come up with!
Can we meet on a different regularity or time? Eg. bi-weekly or monthly, or for two hours instead of 45 minutes, or later/earlier in the day, etc.
While my schedule tends to be fairly tightly packed, sometimes I can make those kinds of changes. Let's talk about it.
What if I need to cancel a session?
If you let me know 48 hours before our regularly scheduled session, we will jointly find a time to make up the missed session. I know your time is valuable, as is mine.
How long are the sessions?
Our coaching sessions are 45 minutes long.
What times of day do you offer sessions?
I provide coaching sessions starting on the hour from 9 am to 5 pm EST Monday to Thursday.
What if my coaching session falls on a holiday or some other date conflict?
We will set the next date at the end of each session so that you are very sure you will be able to make it and that it will meet your requirements.
Where can we meet?
For most of my clients, the most cost-effective option is to work together over the phone. Alternative arrangements can be made.
If it's over the phone, who pays for the long distance?
I will pay for the call if the number I am calling is within North America.
What homework or preparation do I need to do before each session?
It will always be something we have agreed on jointly, and that you agree will help you get to your goals.
How do I make suggestions?
I love suggestions, especially if they will help you get the most out of our coaching relationship! Please feel free to tell me your ideas at any time, as soon as you have them, by email or over the phone.
Are sessions confidential?
I will never disclose your information to anyone without your consent. If I have been hired by your company to coach you, I already have an agreement with them that I will not disclose the details of our conversations. You can be sure that our conversations are completely confidential. If they have not agreed to that condition, I will not be working there.
What if I want to refer you?
I would be delighted if you would refer me to anyone you think can benefit from coaching with me. Please first send them an email and ask them if they would like me to contact them.
Can I get a discount?
I offer a 20% discount off the current Introductory package rate if you continue after the first 4 weeks. If you would like to talk about other win-win options, please feel free to send me an email with your proposal.
What if you cancel a session?
If I cancel less than 24 hours ahead of our scheduled time or forget to call, I will give you a free session!
What if I want to quit?
I’ve never had a client want to quit, but if you really want to quit, then that’s the best thing for both of us. I will never try to convince you to stay. Of course, it would be helpful for me to know why, but I do understand that telling me could be hard. Payment will not be refunded.
